The Dry River Bed

The design of this area supports the melding and delineation of the formal structures on the farmhouse side with the less-formal gardens of the main house. In the spring this area is spectacular with its Pink Weeping Cherry trees, dianthus, peonies and Globemaster alliums. The tall grasses and graceful trees provide a quiet meandering path. The pagoda with honeysuckle and Concord grapes, which grow through the roof, provides a quiet resting place with a view of the gardens. Across the river are heathers, blue spruce and spirea topiaries, with grasses to the right and tree peonies to the left.
